The Return of Toys!

Thursday, September 24th, we had a one on one meeting with a representative from the Consumer Product Safety Commission concerning toys. We now understand our role in reselling toys and insuring our customers safety. Beginning Monday, September 28th the Dorcas Thrift Shop will begin reselling toys! The checks we have to perform are very easy, and very common sense. We appreciate our customers understanding as we transitioned from not selling toys, back to selling toys again. We did this with the sole intention of protecting our customers well being and health. Now that we understand the process better, back to the business of reselling toys!!

NARTS Convention

I just returned from the annual NARTS convention. NARTS is the National Association of Resale and Thrift Shops. This year it was in Scottsdale, AZ. It was a great time meeting with other resale professionals. It was especially nice to meet with other Thrift Store operators, and hear we all have the same concerns and issues. There was also a special presentation from Marc Schoem, Deputy Director of Compliance from the Consumer Product Safety Commission. This was very helpful in clearing up some information about the new CPSIA law that went into effect this past February. I'll be posting some pictures later. Thanks for reading!!
